What is a Real UFO?
I came across the comment recently in an article somewhere; the writer remarked that a reported UFO wasn’t really a “real” UFO. Whatever that means. Did it turn out to be an IFO? (Identified Flying Object.) If so, it was still a UFO; until such time it was correctly identified. Nothing real, or unreal, about it.I don’t know why I persist in my lonely campaign of trying to get the parsing, semantics and gestalt of UFOs straight, but we’re all human, and we all have our little perversities. One of mine is complaining about the loose understanding and use of the term UFO.
UFO is an acronym for Unidentified Flying Object. It should seem simple enough, but as we know, it’s far from simple. Something so simple has been so corroded by assumptions that we need to make sure we’re all on the same page before entering a discussion about UFOs. When I say “UFO” I mean just that: unidentified somethings. When some of you say UFO you may mean: aliens from outer space, lunatics, crazy people who see things that aren’t there, military-industrial objects, natural phenomena, wishful thinking, people who drink too much and see things, people who take drugs and see things, liars, or hoaxes.
If you start off a discussion on UFOs with any of those assumptions firmly placed in your mind — in other words, a very strong opinion teetering on fact — we’re not going to get anywhere.
I’ll acknowledge, quite cheerfully, that when I use the term UFO it contains within it the possibility of aliens from outer space. So what?
That doesn’t mean it is, it doesn’t mean they all are, it doesn’t mean a thing other than what it is. It certainly doesn’t mean I’m crazy or drug addled or a drunk, nor does it mean I lack critical thinking skills or that I’m uneducated. It doesn’t mean a damn thing, except that, based on a combination of factors, I willingly entertain the idea aliens are out there as well as among us.
Yet, inherent in the term UFO we don’t know that for any kind of fact, and have only our own opinion as to all that. For me, the willingness to integrate that possibility of aliens(whether from outer space or some other kind of entity) is based on a life long relationship with the weird, research, and experiences. That, and I’m sorry, but I won’t allow anyone to call me names. Baby, I stick up for myself, and I’m not a drunk, drug addict, or mentally ill individual who sees things;I’m not a liar, either.
Anyway. A UFO may or may not be something from outer space, or our military-industrial complex, or space junk, or weather related phenomeana, stars, a seagull, a balloon, a remote controlled airplane some good old boys are playing with in the field down the road. Whatever. Until we know, it’s a UFO.
Really very simple, isn’t it?

SAUFOR XPLoReS 20060520 Port Shepstone Incident
The 1st report that hit the media from the South African Press Association (SAPA):
RESCUE-MYSTERY
JOHANNESBURG May 20 SAPA
UNIDENTIFIED OBJECT “CRASHES” INTO SEA
Port Shepstone rescuers are monitoring a mysterious situation in which “numerous” eye-witnesses reported an unidentified object crashing into the sea, the National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI)said on Saturday. Eddie Noyons, NSRI Shelley Beach Station Commander, said eye-witnesses reported that an unidentified object, possibly an aircraft, had crashed into the sea behind the breaker line off-shore of the Port Shepstone High School. Police, rescue craft and a fixed wing aircraft were alerted to the scene to investigate. “Following a full-scale search of the area covering 12 square nautical miles nothing has been found. “There are no reports of activity in the area that may be related to this incident and there are no aircraft reported to be overdue or missing,” said Noyons. He said numerous eye-witnesses — including teachers and pupils attending a sports event at the highschool, and other by-standers including local fishermen — were convinced they had seen an aircraft go into the water, including seeing smoke and water exploding. Interviews with the witnesses revealed that some also reported seeing flames. “Some reported seeing something, an unidentified object, splash into the sea causing a ripple effect of waves, ” Noyons said. Due to the number of eye-witnesses with similar reports, it was presumed that weather activity in the area at the time might have given the impression of something falling into the sea. ” We will continue to monitor the situation which remains a mystery,” he said.
And then came the 1st News24.com article:

NSRI Shelley Beach station commander, Eddie Noyons, said eye-witnesses had reported an unidentified object – possibly an aircraft – crashing into the sea behind the breaker line off-shore of the Port Shepstone High School. Noyons said: “Following a full-scale search of the area covering 12 square nautical miles nothing has been found. “There are no reports of activity in the area that may be related to this incident and there are no aircraft reported overdue or missing.” He said numerous eye-witnesses – including teachers and pupils attending a sports event at the high school, by-standers and local fishermen – were convinced they had seen an aircraft go into the water. They said they saw smoke and described “water exploding”. Some also reported seeing flames. No sign of ‘UFO’ – NSRI 21/05/2006 22:40 – (SA)
Port Shepstone – There is no sign of an apparent “UFO” that was reported to have crashed into the sea off Port Shepstone on the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast. National Sea Rescue Institute spokesperson Craig Lambinon says nothing has been found yet, despite an extensive search over an area covering 12 square nautical miles. The mysterious object that “crashed” into the sea behind the breaker-line off-shore of Port Shepstone High School about 12:20 on Saturday, has raised a frenzy of interest worldwide. The number of readers who have clicked on the report carried by News24 reached more than 30 000 by 18:00 on Sunday afternoon. Lambinon said on Sunday evening: “Witnesses said they thought they saw an unidentified object, possibly an aircraft, crash into the sea, but absolutely nothing has been found. “Police and the NSRI offices in Shelley Beach and Port Edward responded to the call that something had crashed into the sea. Some even saw flames. “Margate air traffic control also searched the area with a fixed-wing aircraft. Numerous witnesses, including pupils and teachers at a school sports event, and fishermen were convinced they saw an aircraft go into the water. “They saw smoke and water exploding. Some even saw flames. “Some reported seeing an unidentified object splash into the sea causing a ripple of waves,” said Lambinon. “A reliable source, who was on a hill overlooking the sea about 2km away, said he saw something crash into the sea. “The object trailed smoke behind it, and even after it had crashed the column of smoke hung in the air for several minutes. “It caused a big splash when it hit the water and bobbed up and down,” said Lambinon, quoting one of the witnesses. ‘It might have been the weather…’ “There are no reports of activity in the area that may be related to this incident and there are no aircraft reported to be overdue or missing. “The number of witness reports leads us to presume that weather activity in the area at the time may have given the impression of something falling into the sea. “We will continue to monitor the situation, which remains a mystery,” said Lambinon, adding: “If there ever was something…”.
And then came the official NSRI (National Sea Rescue Institute) Media Release on 21 May 2006:

2006 World UFO Day – 2nd annual ‘Unbind Your Mind’ conference, Cape Town
Dear SAUFOR friend!
It is that time of the year again where World UFO Day (2 July) is creeping closer. The idea for the celebration of this day was conceived by Turkish UFO researcher Haktan Akdogan and chose this specific date because it is the traditional anniversary of the Roswell incident where a spacecraft & occupants crashed in New Mexico, USA in 1947 quite near the 509th Bomber group stationed at Roswell Army Air Force Base who were later to drop the atomic bombs in Japan.. This was also the very 1st public indication that our governments and military were actively lying to the public..
We celebrate this day because the public needs to know that UFOs are an integral part of our reality, whether they are top secret military projects, misidentified natural phenomena, extraterrestrially piloted craft, inter-dimensional or time travellers, or an as yet unknown phenomenon.
With the recent UFO craze that hit the town of Port Shepstone (20 May 2006) and how fast the story spread worldwide, we can clearly see the level of active interest from the public. More and more people are opening up to the possibility of UFO reality.
Why is this important to us in our daily lives? For one thing, we know that there exists a level of public mind control by unscrupulous groups who have near-unlimited financial and other resources and that these few use this power for controlling the many. We are the many. The only reason why they can still get away with this is because they bank on our ignorance of them, their plans and modus operandi.. It is time that the people of this world stand together and take our individual control over ourselves back and aim to reach our true potential.. This cannot be done with oppression still in place and the oppression cannot work when it is out in plain view in stead of working its menace from behind the scenes as is currently the case..
Another point that the public should understand is that advanced technologies have been recovered from UFOs and have been in use by the elite to further the gap between the few and the many.. A direct effect when certain of these technologies are allowed to be made public is that most of the elements of our world economy which are dependant on the oil industry, will fail to exist.. this most probably will shatter world economy, and as is clearly understood by all of us who know that money is essential (at this stage of our civilisation’s developement), this would be disastrous on an unprecedented scale.. However, there are alternatives..
Here in Cape Town, we have been hit by electricity shortages and the public has realized how dependent we are on this when it is no longer there.. This is totally unnecessary as alternative ways of generating electricity exists, but (and again this is tied in to the oil-cabals) the few do not want the many to know that free universal energy exists all around us at this very moment and that the technology exists to tap this energy..
The only way we can gain access to these very necessary technologies is to stop accepting our leaders lies and demand that complete transparency of the spending of the tax-Rands be implemented.. We do NOT need to spend billions of Rands on a Defense Budget while people are dying of hunger, the unemployment figure is so high, healing & preventative medical care is needed, our educational system is in such a state, their is corruption at the highest levels of government, our environment is suffering more and more each day (what planet will our children inherit?) etc, etc.. And oh, we are not at war!
If you want to know more of what is really going on in the world around us and think that knowing more about UFOs and related issues can be gateways to higher dimensions of human knowledge, feel free to come and support us at our “Unbind Your Mind” World UFO Day conference on 1 July 2006 in Cape Town, South Africa. There are still a few openings for guest speakers who wish to assist in removing the shackles of institutionalised thought.

Magic of Mantras
PAM SPEAKS…. The Magic of Mantras
The magic of mantras is one of the world’s most powerful natural forces. “Shellah” which is a universal sound to communicate with UFO aliens. You must however hold on to a tree branch with your left hand, while speaking to the space creatures; or you will lose consciousness. Mantras are sounds or combinations of sounds which are said to embody the divinity and contain the mystical ability to make things happen. Dr. C. Ralph Campo, Director of the University of Psychic Science, USA teaches this.
Animal Mutilations
High levels of heat that only advanced laser scalpels are capable of, caused the cuts, which seem to have been divided and seared along cell walls. No Blood left at all. Balls of light, unmarked helicopters, have been seen near by carcasses. There is mention going back as far as 1810 on the Scottish border, in 1874 Ireland, 30 sheep in one night. 1906 Windsor castle, UK, 51 sheep in one night. In 1897 USA, 1920 Canada, 1890 UK, 1920 Sweden 70 horses in one night, all called ‘Window Areas’. Seem to return to the same place more often than not, could be doorways where other dimensions or times intersect our own? Are we food for the moon?
UFO FactFile: Did you know that the Mexican Air Force recently released infrared video footage to the media, taken by experienced pilots? According to the UFO journalist Jaime Mausan, who has been tracking the UFO phenomenon more than 25 years, ‘It is one of the most important film documents we have been able to access.’

Time to honour the Mysterious
by Christo Louw
…in the beginning when stars were stars, and we were living in caves in a kind of survival mode, we would sometimes look up at the stars and see how beautiful it all was, and we would try to understand our place in all of this. We would look at everything around us and see things that we could relate to and sometimes, just sometimes, we would notice a certain movement or event that was simply mysterious, something we couldn’t wrap our young minds around. Now, if we were alone as a witness to such a mysterious event or movement, we would be faced with a choice, a choice that involves how we process this new information. We could ignore that it ever happened, which is but one way of dealing with this or we could choose to find out more, before we feel comfortable with the knowledge that there is nothing more to it. And by choosing to find out more, we have to investigate and you’ll start telling others you meet about the experience. How the event is valued by me as the experiencer depends largely on how others react and the help or opinions they offer. Secondly, it is how I choose others’ help and opinions to influence my value to the experience. So it seems today that somewhere along the time-line of history, we’ve learnt to not tell our stories of discovery to just anyone, but when approaching the ones with the proper attitude, we will benefit the most from our own experiences. Personally, I think it is about time we again honour the mysterious!!!

Is intelligent life out there?
Jeanne van der Merwe investigates
It’s a Saturday afternoon and a group of people is gathered in the foyer of Cape Town’s Baxter Theatre. They look like members of a neighbourhood watch.
But the game is given away when I stroll past and catch snippets of their conversation.
“Why don’t they just land in front of the White House? Why are they only ever seen in deserts?” asks one middle-aged man.
His buddy shrugs, and offers: “Some of them prefer not to interfere. Some species have non-interference policies.”
Hmmm. What have we here?
It’s the monthly meeting of the South African UFO Forum – they call themselves Saufor – taking place under the saucer-shaped lampshades of the theatre.
I walked past them twice without realising I had found them – so ordinary did these hunters of alien life seem.
Alien watchers are rather like some of the extraterrestrials Hollywood action men Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith watch over in Men In Black – completely indiscernible from the rest of us.
Present at this get-together are, among others, a grey-haired granddad, a Muslim father of two who has brought his wife and kids along, a shy, skinny man with tattoos and a motorcycle helmet, and a Japanese visitor in a weatherbeaten T-shirt.
Saufor is bravely gearing up to find out everything there is to know about UFOs in South Africa. It’s led by soft-spoken Cristo Louw, a 28-year-old who looks like a fitness trainer and who gave up a career as a technical support operator to hunt down information on beings “out there”.
“I’ve never had any experiences myself, but I’ve been interested in them since I was a child, and I’m really looking forward to meeting some myself,” he says.
What started as a hobby, however, has proven a boon for other South African believers, who have long ago given up talking to friends and loved ones about the things they see in the night skies, and the strange memory lapses and dreams of little people with big eyes they’ve had.
Believers such as Fareed Hoosen, who mans the forum’s “call centre” (his personal cellphone) and who has had strange experiences with unearthly beings since he was seven years old.
“It’s just great to be able to get together and talk about these things,” he says.
The only thing the odd assortment of UFO-watchers have in common is Louw’s website – started while he was working for Vodacom about five years ago – which recounts UFO sightings and strange encounters in South Africa.
As far as the forum can tell, the earliest reported UFO sighting happened in 1838, when a Cape Town newspaper reported that glowing fireballs were crisscrossing the Cape skies.
At their meetings, they also ponder other famous UFO sightings, such as the Rosmead incident in the Eastern Cape in 1972, where a primary school principal saw a strange flying thing that left molten holes in a locked tennis court and scorched surrounding trees.
And another sighting in Fort Beaufort in the same year when a farmer had his reservoir shattered by what some believe was a UFO.
Or the time in 1974 at Beit Bridge when a car inexplicably left the road and hovered above the earth while the occupants lost all sense of time.
In Groendal near Uitenhage in 1978 a group of teens on a camping trip apparently saw beings in silver suits gliding up a hillside.
An overseas guest makes an appearance at the Saufor meeting – Masahiro Kahata, a Japanese researcher investigating, among other things, the effect crop circles have on people’s brain waves and how one can control a craft telepathically.
However, his enthusiastic explanations in a nigh-incomprehensible Japanese accent make way for a more practical question, and one that no doubt consumes believers everywhere – how to get people to take them seriously.
Louw himself admits that “we cannot make people believe who don’t want to believe”.
In hope, they turn to the memories of people like Elizabeth Klarer, a South African woman who claimed she was impregnated by a man from the constellation of Alpha Centauri named Akon and go t a book published about it.
Louw is keen to use the Promotion of Access to Information Act to get information on some of the stranger UFO incidents, such as an alleged sighting in 1996 when a military helicopter chased after a UFO.
“We could get hold of the video of that,” he tells his audience hopefully.
