1. approx 20.45 on sun 18 2009 from a farm north of Queenstown in the Eastern Cape my wife and I observed a light of varying intensity with 4 to 6 concentric light rings expanding out from the central light and gradually fading (like a ripple effect).It moved in a south to north direction. We watched it for about 5 minutes moving across the sky before it faded away.We also observed a scheduled aircraft flying past which appeared to be at a much lower altitude
   We are looking forward to hearing about other peoples observations.

2. REPORTING FROM SOUTHERN JOHANNESBURG. ON THE 18/10/09 @ ABOUT 8:45PM I WENT OUTSIDE TO SMOKE. AS I DO EVERY NIGHT I GAZED UP AT THE SKY AND THE STARS. ON THIS NIGHT TO MY SURPRISE THERE IN THE SKY WAS THIS CIRCLE, I THOUGHT OH! THE MOON LOOKS GORGEOUS AS EVER, WHILE CONTINUEING TO LOOK AT THE ‘MOON’ I NOTICED THAT THE CENTER WAS GLOWING I THOUGHT TO MYSELF THAT’S WEIRD AND THEN IT SPLIT INTO WHAT I CAN ONLY DESCRIBE AS TWO BOOMERANG LOOKING LIKE …… THIS SPLIT FORMED A CIRCLE PUSHING THE EXISTING CIRCLE OUT. AT THIS POINT I THOUGHT I AM GOING MAD AND CALLED FOR MY SISTER TO COME AND SEE, SHE SAW THE GLOWING CENTRE OF THE CIRCLE SPLIT INTO TWO THEN FORM A CIRCLE THEN PUSH THE EXSISTING CIRCLE OUT. WHILE THIS CONTINUED THE GLOWING CENTER AND CIRCLE MOVED ACROSS THE SKY AND WITH IT WAS A BUZZING SOUND. MY BROTHER INLAW AND NEPHEW BOTH ALSO SAW THIS. WHEN THIS OCCURANCE REACHED THE MIDDLE OF WHERE WE WERE STANDING AN AIRCRAFT PAST AND THE OUT CIRCLE OF THIS THING NEARLY TOUCHED THE PLANE. THE SPLITTING CONTINUED AS IT MOVED ACROSS THE SKY IT THEN CAME TO AN END JUST STOPPED AND YET IT STILL CONTINUED TO PROJECT CIRCLES. AT THE POINT WHERE IT STOPPED 5 OTHER ‘STARS’ CAME TOWARD THIS ANDTHEY FORMED WHAT WE SAW LIKE ATRIANGLUAR SHAPE AND THEY JUST CONTINUED TO FLASH. THIS CONTINUED UP UNTIL 10PM AS THIS IS WHEN WE WENT INSIDE.

3. At about 10:00pm on sunday 18th 2009 here in Toulon in France an incredible phenomenon observed. I was sat with 4 other friends having a late night BBQ. I was sat Facing south looking out over the Med, i was looking at Jupiter (which happens to be the brightest object in the sky at the moment. I then noticed a blue/white glow next to it, almost like the moon would look like if it were behind some mist or cloud. However the sky was perfectly clear. We all stopped what we were doing trying to figure out what this blue/white glow in the night sky was. As the object moved over us we could see that there was a leading point with a huge glowing trail creating a triangular shape, similar to when a meteor enters the atmosphere, except the trail was much wider and the object appeared to be moving very slowly. It was moving exactly in a north to south motion. We noticed there was what appeared to be a satellite like object in front of it by about 20 seconds. Both objects were moving at exactly the same speed and in exactly the same direction. Both Objects progressed north. Then something unbelievable happened, the leading object suddenly went from looking like a satellite to becoming the same as the object trailing it. Within a few seconds of that, two massive elliptical white glowing ripples emerged, covering a very large area of the night sky. We then noticed what appeared to be 4 planes in chase or following the objects, but they were a good 30-40 seconds behind. We then lost sight of the objects behind the mountains as they progressed north, and the huge white ripples gradually faded. None of us had ever seen anything like this, it blew us all away. The glowing objects appeared to be at a very high altitude, while the planes appeared much lower but were without doubt following the 2 glowing objects. The whole experience was incredible, but the ripple effect in the sky literally took my breath away. BTW if you head perfectly south from toulon you arrive at north africa.

4. I apologise, the objects were moving from south to north, not north to south as i incorrectly said in my comment above.

I am from Nigel,East Rand, Gauteng, On Sunday 18th October at approximately 9 pm my family of about 15 and I saw this bright light in the sky, one ring appeared around it, and another and another , there were about 5 rings aroung this bright light, and the light move across the sky, as this happened the rings seemed to expand and slowley fade away, the star/light moved on and faded away. It was the most beautiful sight, we are thrilled to ave witnessed this, at first we thought that it was just us who saw it, but the newspaper headlines this morning made me relaised what we had witnessed!

I was fortunate enough to be sitting on a patio in Wilderniss Garden Route when I saw something appearing on the southern horison looking very misty and brought my friends with me’s attention to it. As we watched this bright light appeared and seemed like exploded with its vapour dissapating into a perfect circle. This happened 7 times at exactely the same time intervals moving over our heads in a norhterly direction. We were in ore and would like to know if there is an explanation. The four of us were gob-smacked and the visual picture is still as clear to me as when it happenend.

En una determinada zona de Barcelona del Domingo 18/10/2009 a las 21:15 aproximadamente se observan dos objetos voladores no identificados, uno luminoso del tamaño aproximado de la luna trás una nube o niebla, delante una especie de estrella brillante. Parecia que estaban parados pero al prestar atención se movian lentamente. La aparente estrella en movimiento daba la sensación que escoltaba a la nube luminosa, en un determinado momento parecia que la nube se detenia sobre nosotros y la distancia de los objetos era mayor, de pronto el primer objeto ( la estrella ) emitió una especie de cola de angel de color blanco, como si frenara, seguidamente cambió el color de la cola a amarillo o fuego y este giró ligeramente como si esperara a la nube, seguidamente la nube continuo y la estrella de delante también. Se formó primero un aro de color como verde fluorescente alrededor de tamaño impresionante ( se perdia en los horizontes) y era más visible en la parte del OESTE, después en pocos segundos el aro se convirtió en doble aro y se fué desvaneciendo mientras se alejaba en dirección S-N. Pasó un avión comercial aparentemente cerca por lo que lo tuve que ver. Este acontecimiento pareció muy especial, dió la sensación que hubo un tiempo muerto en nuestro entorno, ni coches, ni ruidos, ni viento. Una semana antes tuve un sueño donde hiba subido en una especie de nave antigua a poca altura y una sensación me indicaba que mirase hacia fuera para visualizar unas luces en el cielo justo en el lugar donde vimos este acontecimiento. Como el lugar era en un parque cercano a una carretera muy transitada, cada dia le decia a mi mjuer al pasar por allí antes de ver eso ” Mira soñé que encima de esa montaña habian luces extrañas en el cielo y yo hiba en una especie de ovni muy antiguo como si fuese de madera a poca distancia del suelo.

   Si alguien ha visto algo parecido me interesaría que me lo comunicara, quien quiera información más detallada para realizar alguna investigación, puedo mostrar el dibujo que realizé al dia siguiente ( no llevaba cámara ) pero lo dibujé, por lo que si alguien más ha visto lo mismo, estoy seguro de que quedrá identificado con este dibujo.

9. For the past week i have looked up in he sky at around 20h00 (Johannesburg, South Africa) and noticed what looked like stars move in a straight line across the sky and eventually fades away, this happens atleast about three times.
